Looking for Volunteer Critter Caretakers at Wildlife On The Move

We are looking for dedicated, attention to detail oriented, and positive people interested in providing the highest level of animal care and husbandry to our "Animal Ambassadors" and/or top notch LIVE Animal Presentations to our audiences in DFW and Beyond!

Commitment: We ask that volunteers provide a minimum of two hours per week. We are currently in need of Weekday Help in AM especially (Monday-Friday) and Back-up Help on Saturdays and Sundays (AM or PM);

Requirements: A volunteer should be at least 13 years of age* or older and reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. He/She should have an appreciation for, and a basic understanding of, the type of critters that are in our collection. A volunteer should have a positive attitude and be committed to learning more about what we do. Reliable transportation to and from compound or venue provided by volunteer/family member is a must. ?*(13-15 Year Old Volunteers must have a parent or guardian present during their shift at the compound or presentation venue).

Areas of Interest:

Critter Care – Learn how to care for animals in our teaching collection. You will start with invertebrates, and eventually move up to lizards and tortoises. Finally, you will learn to care for snakes (non-venomous only).

Animal Presentations – Volunteers with a desire and an aptitude may be given the opportunity to learn the art of sharing knowledge and appreciation of wild critters with various types of audiences. This opportunity will exist for volunteers who have accumulated 50 hours of volunteer service.

Website and Media Work – Maintaining the WOTM website (www.wildlifeonthemove.com) is another opportunity for involvement. as well as photography and videography. This would include web design enhancements (overall design, SEO, changing pictures/captions, inserting videos, changing Creature Feature, etc.), photography at events, video documentation of events, as well as the incorporation of other social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in getting WOTM increased exposure.
