In conjunction with the Museum’s First Thursday Late Night, Doubilet and Hayes will transport ticketholders to secret underwater worlds and share their “behind-the-camera” adventures

Hear about secret underwater worlds with renowned photographers David Doubilet and Jennifer Hayes, partners in life and under the sea, at the Perot Museum’s National Geographic Live! lecture on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. Among the world’s most celebrated underwater photographers, Doubilet has published nearly 70 stories in National Geographic magazine since his first assignment in 1971. Their work has taken the duo across the globe from beneath Africa’s Okavango Delta, to equatorial coral reefs and under oil and gas rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, to swimming among congregations of 500-pound goliath grouper and submerged under the ice.

Following the lecture, which will take place in The Hoglund Foundation Theater, a National Geographic Experience, both will be on hand for a Q&A and autograph session.

Tickets to individual lectures are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. (Museum general admission** is not required – or included – with lecture ticket purchase.) Or ticket packages are available for the Feb. 4 and April 7 lectures at $50 for members and $60 for non-members. The April 7 lecture features wildlife photographer and filmmaker Charlie Hamilton James who will recount his unlikely journey from the Peruvian rainforest to the mountain landscapes of Yellowstone. He will also provide a sneak peek at his latest project inside Tanzania’s Serengeti.

The speaker series is presented by Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., in partnership with National Geographic Live!

In addition, First Thursday Late Night activities will take place throughout the Museum from 7-9 p.m. including electrifying experiments and activities exploring light, electricity, currents and circuits. First Thursday Late Night is free to members and included with general admission** for non-members.
