James Madison High School celebrated the opening of a new Parent Center on Dec. 11. Through a generous grant from Capital One Bank, The Heart of America Foundation’s READesign® team worked with the Madison High School staff and Dallas Independent School District to transform an area within the school into a vibrant parent center with new reading material and technology specifically for parents.

In addition to the more than 250 books provided for the new Parent Center, Capital One provided books specifically geared towards parents of college-age students and host small-group sessions focusing on financial activities. The Parent Center features environmentally-friendly components including low VOC paints, and the recycling of materials from the project renovation.
