The annual Texas sales tax holiday is just around the corner. This year, from August 10 to August 12, many of the items your children need for the new academic year will be exempt from local and state sales taxes (as long as they're under $100). These items include:

  • Most clothing for both kids and adults
  • Footwear
  • School supplies like pencils, pens, etc.
  • Backpacks

Keep in mind that some items, like watches and wallets, won't be included in the exemption. Still, next week is an excellent time to stock up on your most-needed school items. Plus, a handful of stores will be offering further discounts in celebration of the weekend, so you might be able to snag some impressive deals.

To learn more about which items will be tax-free and which will be taxable, visit this helpful guide.
