The Warren Center, a nonprofit agency providing professional evaluations, therapy services and support to children with developmental delays and disabilities is URGENTLY seeking help from the community to bring holiday cheer to children ages birth to three years old. Now through Dec. 8, the nonprofit is seeking generous donors to participate in the Operation Santa Toy Drive. The nonprofit is requesting donations of new, unwrapped toys for children birth to seven-years-old which will be distributed at The Warren Center’s Annual Operation Santa holiday party.
To create a sensory-friendly environment for children with developmental disabilities and their families, The Warren Center hosts the annual Operation Santa to provide donated toys, holiday games, food, and fun for everyone. “At least 70 percent of the families we serve live beneath Texas' poverty line. Without the generosity of our community, many of these children would not receive any gifts for Christmas,” says Amy Spawn, CEO of The Warren Center. “It can be extremely challenging to shop, wrap and attend holiday festivities while caring for a child with a chronic illness. The Operation Santa holiday event alleviates some of the stress of the holiday season for families who have children with developmental delays and disabilities.”
The Operation Santa event has grown by more than 200 families this year, and the nonprofit needs toys! Toys can be purchased via the nonprofit's Amazon wish list link https://a.co/eUDCokK. Community members can can drop off new, unwrapped toys for children ages birth to three years old at The Warren Center's Richardson office (320 Custer Rd., Richardson, TX 75080) Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. If you would like to drop off toys, please contact Brooklyn Blaylock to schedule a date and time.
