The 49th Annual Lakewood Home Tour is set to return November 89, 2025, celebrating one of East Dallass most beloved neighborhood traditions. Among this years featured homes is a beautifully reimagined residence by the award-winning team at Kitchen Design Concepts.

The home, belonging to designers Mary Kathryn Reese and Katie Bacon, showcases a full interior and exterior renovation with thoughtful detailing, custom furnishings, and timeless styling. Visitors will get an inside look at the design process and craftsmanship that bring this East Dallas gem to life.

Proceeds from the Lakewood Home Tour benefit East Dallas public schools Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School supporting local education through community engagement and design appreciation.

Buckner Retirement Services Acquires Fort Worth Senior Living Community The Stayton

Nonprofit senior living provider Buckner Retirement Services was declared the prevailing party to acquire The Stayton at Museum Way, a Fort Worth senior living community. The Stayton will be the seventh senior living community owned and operated by Buckner in Texas, including Ventana by Buckner in Dallas.

The anticipated closing date for the purchase is June 2024 but may occur as soon as late April. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The transaction provides for the full assumption by Buckner of all resident agreements and entrance fee refund obligations, and a significant reduction in The Staytons bond indebtedness.

The Stayton is a vibrant community, and we look forward to partnering with Buckner to carry our community forward, said a spokesperson for The Stayton. Buckner Retirement Services is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that owns and operates six other continuing care retirement communities in Texas, including in Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Since 1954, Buckner has provided seniors with dignified living and expert care, and has promoted an active, healthy lifestyle while maintaining their independence.

Buckner Retirement Services is part of Buckner International, which serves vulnerable children, families, and seniors. Buckner currently provides foster care and adoption services in and around Fort Worth.
